Isa 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Jesus Calms the Storm
Mark 4 35-41
35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, "Let us go over to the other side."
36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him.
37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped.
38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?"
39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
40 He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"
41 They were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!"
the Devil strikes FEAR into people's lives.
the Just shall live by Faith
Fear is a spirit. Fear is an influence. It is an atmosphere, a culture...
we are all living in fear because life is based on the LAW. and the LAW strikes fear in the hearts of men.
the Holy Spirit drives away FEAR!
He will work with you and change your thoughts from fear to faith.
take a look at the first fear.
Genesis 3:8-13
8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden.
9 But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"
10 He answered, "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid."
11 And he said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?"
12 The man said, "The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it."
13 Then the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."
this shows that Adam felt naked, in need, lacking, shameful, insufficient..... a result of a rebellion
the decision to step up your faith is a decision made by the Spirit, not a decision made by the carnal nature
read through the whole of Judges. God says:"GO. This journey is under the protection of God"
"fear will take you away from the excitement of life. it grips you. holds you down. makes you cower to a corner. "
therefore,
Romans 12:2
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
do not conform to the world. FAITH. nothing is impossible when I trust in God.
ever wonder why we are fearful?
we are FEARFUL because we are SELFISH.
when we sin, we go from a God-centred life to a Self-centred one.
we must be Heavenly-minded! have Heaven as your goal, your destination. the things on the world are temporary.
Philippians 3:14
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
love is unselfishness.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
when Jesus sets you free, you will be free INDEED!
